URL Grabber & Video Downloader

Export open tab URLs and headings and queue videos found in those tabs. The installed Chrome extension is named Incognito Tab Exporter.

Install

  1. Download plops-url-grabber-1.6.zip from this page and extract it into a permanent folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the folder containing manifest.json.
  3. Review the extension permissions. Enable incognito access in Details only if you want that workflow.
  4. Click the extension toolbar button to create a fresh results page. After an update, reload the extension and close old results pages before exporting again.

This is a source ZIP for manual installation, not a Chrome Web Store listing. The archive includes the extension source, icons, README and tests. No separate open-source license is included.

Queue and save videos

Choose Parallel transfers from 1–5, optionally choose a folder inside Downloads, and click DOWNLOAD VIDEOS once. Leave the results page open until saving finishes.

Each completed network transfer frees its slot for the next queued item while Chrome handles the earlier save. DOWNLOADING shows received bytes and, when available, a percentage. BUFFERED means all bytes arrived and Chrome is still saving. Only successfully saved files are removed from the URL list.

Temporary transfer failures retry with increasing delays, up to 25 attempts. Access/authentication failures and invalid responses are reported. STOP aborts transfers and cancels saves that have a download ID; dismiss an already open filename dialog yourself if Chrome has not assigned an ID.

Permissions and limits

Requests tabs, storage, scripting, downloads, webRequest, clipboardWrite and contextMenus permissions, plus access to all websites. Site requests may include your existing login credentials to retrieve media your browser can access. Review this access before enabling the extension.

Only save media you are authorized to download. This extension does not bypass site access checks or concurrency limits. Renaming a file to .mp4 does not transcode it. Website compatibility depends on the actual media URL. Buffers are temporary and are lost when the results page or browser closes; large batches may use substantial resources.

Verification

All seven download-queue regression tests passed on October 24, 2026, covering slot release during save delays, the five-transfer ceiling, retries, stopping, progress and incomplete transfers. Live site authentication and native Chrome save prompts remain browser-specific checks.
